• Bush to Country: “You guys… we are so NOT heading into a recession! Really, I don’t know where you people get that idea, and… oh. So that’s where you get that idea.”

• The Bush Administration has hit the brakes on the “virtual fence” to separate the U.S. from Mexico for at least three years, and… they know they’re not going to be around in three years, right?

• New and very disturbing photos from Abu Ghraib have been released, and unless you like being sickened and then infuriated, DON’T CLICK HERE.

• A task force of Harvard scholars will be exploring how to make MySpace safe from sexual predators. Ummmm… aren’t most predators white, middle-aged men? Like some Harvard scholars I could name?

• On last night’s American Idol, a trainwreck of mammoth proportions occurred. You like trainwrecks, don’t you? ADMIT IT.

Regarding the Abu-Grabe exposay

Now don't get me wrong but this was a very mild tour of the realities of war. Folks war is not pretty or sexy.

Did you watch the jihadist behead, burn, shoot their victims? That makes this look like a carnival ride. Remember Daniel Pearl?

In a perfect world people would never be treated badly or demeaned. In this case the ends do justify the means.

It is a tool of the islamo appoligists to keep pointing to this ancient history and only harms the USA.

Let us put it away for now and move on.

Torture is inexcusable and it's not just some far left apologist stance. Any real interrogator will tell you that torture brings unreliable information and promotes it's use by the enemy as a form of retribution. When you say move on it makes me wonder; "move on to what?". A 100 year religious war? This isn't a game.

Why do we need to become torturers ourselves in order to defeat terrorists and how does using torture stop the creation of new ones?

As for the trainwreck of American Idol, it just shows that torture can exist on numerous levels.

I don't get the torture thing. I've been under sodium penathol and other twilight type anesthesia and I would have answered any question anybody asked me. Can't we just slip these guys a mickey, or some good Scotch, and have them start spilling their guts?
