You can download your domestic partnership form here, on a page that notes the law took effect today. Bring it—notarized—to the county building starting on Monday.
Multnomah County Commissioner Jeff Cogen’s staff had earlier volunteered to be on hand to notarize forms, which could still be the case on Monday. You know the drill—I’ll keep you posted.
UPDATE: In the comments, Cogen’s chief of staff Marissa Madrigal says they’ll be ready on Monday morning to notarize away…
We are so excited this decision came finally came through and will absolutely be ready with our notary stamps on Monday morning. A reminder to couples who might need notary services, you DO need to bring identification or we can’t notarize unless we personally know BOTH of you.
Looks like I can now get my good (non-gay) friend to sign the form with me and reap some cheap benifits! Thanks Oregon!
Sweet: Sure, if you wanna have to split your assets in an Oregon divorce court! Duh.
Hey Sweet, where did you get that idea? From Chuck or Larry?
Sorry "Doy!", I never saw the movie you mentioned. Just pointing how how ridiculous it is that anyone could apply for this without any sort of proof.
Amy- This is Marissa, Commissioner Jeff Cogen's chief of staff. We are so excited this decision came finally came through and will absolutely be ready with our notary stamps on Monday morning. A reminder to couples who might need notary services, you DO need to bring identification or we can't notarize unless we personally know BOTH of you.
ID can be either ONE piece of CURRENT government issued identification that includes your picture, signature and physical description (a current driver's license works, sometimes passports don't have a physical description so check yours first)
- OR - TWO business or government issued documents with signatures such as library cards, credit cards, employee ID card, membership card etc...as long as BOTH documents have your signature and aren't expired. Here's a link to the Secretary of State's id requirements if what I wrote doesn't make sense:
Happy Partnering!
Sweet, "Without any sort of proof"? You mean like hetero couples who get married?
Thanks for the giggles.

You have to print the form on LEGAL size (8.5" x 14") paper for it to be submittable.
