Media Amy Ruiz’s Election Coverage Is Brilliant

Posted by Matt Davis on Fri, Mar 7 at 11:38 AM

Says Larry Norton at the Oregonian’s Old Town Blog. Ms.Ruiz objects to my posting about this, but we all know the Mercury has been shu-hitting all over everyone else in town when it comes to bringing the election into your consciousness. And it’s important that somebody says so. So well done, Larry. And I’m with you on it.

Amy single handedly got me involved in local politics. Job well done, Amy!

Larry has no affiliation whatsoever to the Oregonian.

And there's an election coming up?

Larry blogs on Oregonlive.

I know you chumps over at the Oregonian like to pretend there's no affiliation, but there's a fucking affiliation. Get over it.

Right. So, it's not the "Oregonian's Old Town blog," it's the "Oregon Live Old Town blog." Since the O is just one of a handful of outlets affiliated with that site.

This election season, readers vote "YES on accuracy!"

And I agree with the love for Amy. She provides insightful reporting, and is definitely the highlight to reading Blogtown for constant local political issues and chatter. Good stuff, Amy!

You fucking Oregonian pricks. Get a life. You all sound so crabby.

... "said The Stranger blogger, Matt Davis."

I have to agree with the blogger, no matter his affiliation. I am a Portland news junkie. You guys are kicking everyone else's butt, and I love your snarky attitude.

Thanks, CS. Could you say something retarded and horrible, now, so we can hit back? We're not very good with this unambiguous praise. It makes us nervous.

At least be sarcastically nice.

"Ohh yes, I LOVE the Mercury blog. It's just SOOOO clever and erudite."

That kind of thing.

We're not very good with this unambiguous praise. It makes us nervous.

Speak for yourself, Matt. I may be modest, but I can appreciate a compliment!

this is that same jackass from the other day right? so he can recognize that the merc covers good stories, he just doesnt like the homeless? got it. senility rears its ugly head. give the guy his cane back and get on with it matt.

Who'da thunk Larry Norton would form the missing link in a BoJack-Amy J. love triangle? Stranger things have happened...

That's more like it, guys. Veiled compliments. Half-hearted ones. Nice!

I am currently gathering signatures for a ballot measure that will repeal Christianity. If it makes it onto the November ballot and passes, Christianity will become illegal in the state of Oregon. And it will be retroactive.
