Remember that movie The Queen? It was a great portrayal of the British royal family, Tony Blair’s rise to power, and the shock that was Princess Di’s death. In short, it was a classy movie that dealt with some touchy subjects. Nobody accused it of pushing an agenda, and people were almost fooled into thinking that Queen Elizabeth was a human being. Of course, having Having Helen Mirren attached to any movie is a winning choice…

The reason I bring up The Queen is because I’ve just recently begun hearing about Oliver Stone’s new movie, W, a biopic about Oliver Stone’s former Yale brethren George W. Bush. It’s like an across-the-pond relative of The Queen, only completely devoid of any subtlety and class. Why? Because of fucking Oliver Stone.
Everything about this movie is sort of a rumor right now, but the most recent rumors attach Josh Brolin to the role of George W. and Elizabeth Banks (yes, the horny one from 40 Year Old Virgin) to the role of Laura.
But seriously, Oliver fucking Stone? The guy could make a Jello commercial have a political agenda.
"I want a fair, true portrait of the man ... what it's like to be in his skin" blah blah blah. Please, just give the 50 million it will take to create this movie and use it to help revive our dying economy.
I've had my turn ... any thoughts?
