Election 2008 Kyle Burris Needs Your Help to Get on the Ballot

Posted by Amy J. Ruiz on Mon, Mar 10 at 10:46 AM

I’ll let him explain:

After much internal debate, mayoral candidate Kyle Burris has decided to come clean with the voters of Portland: like any good Portlander, he is a slacker of the highest degree.

Kyle Burris has long planned to fund his campaign by selling off copies of his original photographic works—but he also believed that to do so, he would need to get his website up and running. And that would require what he is told is called “work”.

Now though, Kyle Burris finds himself in an uncomfortable situation. The deadline to file is Tuesday at 5:00 PM. Kyle is unsure if the signatures he gathered will be enough to clear the threshold, and if they aren’t, he is too poor to buy his way onto the ballot.

It is with that in mind that Kyle Burris is announcing an advanced photo sale. Offering up $10 print/digital copy combos of his selected works, Kyle Burris is hoping to raise the money necessary to secure his place on the ballot, and continue the fight to save Portland.

Kyle Burris has been making a point of maintaining a DIY attitude during his campaign, and plans to continue that by hand delivering all prints to those who live inside Portland.

Kyle Burris is asking that those interested please e-mail him at the.real.kyle.burris@gmail.com.

Burris needs $50 to register for the ballot, or 100 signatures. He has 68 valid signatures, and submitted 47 more raw ones last week, but those may not be processed by the county before tomorrow’s deadline.

Imagine all the "work" he'll have to do once he's elected.

Oh right.
