Sports PSU Almost Beats the Spread

Posted by Patrick Coleman on Thu, Mar 20 at 2:30 PM

Hey! It’s time for some sporty talk here in Blogtown. Maybe you haven’t heard, but the PSU men’s basketball team played in the NCAA tournament this morning. The team had a great season in their conference this year but had the incredible bad luck to be up against the top-seeded team in the NCAA Midwestern region, the Kansas Jayhawks.

Long story short, they had their asses handed to them by an incredible Kansas team that looked like a herd of speedy, renegade giants when placed beside the diminutive PSU crew. You’ve got to give some credit to the Viks, though. Attendance at their games was abysmal, if not tragic, and yet they still fought their way to the Big Dance. Even though there were moments during this morning’s game when they may have looked like the Washington Generals being routed by the Globetrotters, they still played their hearts out against a team that was bigger, stronger, faster and more accurate than them. Hell, one more bucket and they would have beat the point spread, which stood at 23 before the game. Final score: PSU-61, Kansas-85. There goes my bracket, I had them going all the way to the finals.

They may not be NCAA champions, but they are kinda hunky, and that has to count for something.

I don't know much about basketball. Is ripping off the opponent's shirt really a legal move?
