Games Bingo Was Her Name-O

Posted by Courtney Ferguson on Wed, Apr 9 at 11:50 AM

Hypothetical question: Let’s say a friend of mine wanted to play bingo. She is a big fan of troll dolls and Elvis bingo markers. I, er, she is really jonesing for a game. Where would she go? Sunday at Thatcher’s maybe? Anywhere else?

Bingo is the jam.

I don't know much about bingo halls, though they're probably all the same-ish.
What I do know is the Spare Room (42nd and Alberta) on Monday nights at 7pm. Now, the boards are old school sliding-red-screen-that-covers-the-number so you don't get to use the "dobbers" and I really haven't seen too many good luck charms, but there are plenty of olds, it's cheap, and you can drink a cocktail whilst playing.

the payoff isn't huge, but i won $20 the other day. party.

for some hardcore bingo, go to Wildhorse Resort Casino on the Umatilla Indian Reservation (7 mi. east of Pendleton)
then when your tired of getting your ass kicked by some little old ladies you can go hit up some blackjack. then when all the other people start glaring at you for hitting that 15, you can go play some poker. After your bad beat, go decompress a while at Tamastslikt and look at James Lavadour paintings.

there. your weekend is planned.
you're welcome.

There seem to be some decent size bingo halls around the area. If they're in it for the bingo then I think those would be much better than a bar w/ bingo night.

Thank you for this post. I've been lazily looking for a place to play bingo, too. I used to play at a chumash casino pretty often. Since being here in portland, I've seen a place at the top of hawthorne, and also one on lombard, but I haven't gone in them yet. My daubers, and my lucky marble, are not being put to the use that I'd like them to be put to! CF, if you wanna partner up, I am here for you.

American Legion hall at 21st and Alberta, every other Friday at around 8pm. Costs a couple bucks per game. Extra card for canned food donation. Final "blackout" round at the end of the night-- play up to 7 cards at once.

I should mention that the Am Legion bingo is OVERRUN by PNCA students, so if you're scared of old people, it's a good place to start

Bring your smoke suit and gas mask! I went to a bingo place in NE (out by the airport). The smoke there was worse than any bar I've been to.

That said, watching the ladies play 7 cards at once is pretty amazing, I had trouble keeping up with two cards.
