• Barack Obama uses his strongest words yet to divorce himself from his loud-mouth former pastor. “Get thee behind me, you bible-thumping crackpot!”

• GM loses $3.3 billion in their first quarter while wondering, “Why don’t you people love SUVs anymore?”

• The driver of Osama bin Laden’s car is trying to prove he isn’t a real al-Qaida operative. Let’s see… who can he get a letter of reference from?

• Dear Lesbians of the World: You are no longer allowed to identify yourselves as “lesbians” because it causes too much confusion with the Greek island of Lesbos. (However, the “lesbians” in Penthouse magazine can continue to do as they please.)

• Albert Hoffman, the “father of LSD” (and presumably, the phrase, “Whoooaaa, dude… trippy…”) is dead.

• And speaking of tripping out on pharmaceuticals, Paula Abdul had one of her best brain farts yet on last night’s American Idol! Set up: Instead of the usual song/critique/song/critique format, AI switched things up by having all the singers get critiqued at the same time after their first number, BEFORE singing their second number. Confused? JESUS CHRIST, SO WAS PAULA!

I'm totally down with Team Obama, but part of me wonders if the new Rev Wright stuff isn't a setup. That maybe the two are still in cahoots and that Wright agreed to get all uppity in the media again just so Barack could have another chance to shoot him down in public.

I also totally need to refill the various prescriptions I use to fight my severe paranoia. Just sayin'.

The funny thing is GM's stock was up today. They lost less money than the analysts figured they would.

On a quick note, my Ancient Greek Culture class in college taught me that the isle of Lesbos is where we get the term "lesbian," because it was the home of the lesbian poet Sappho. Funny that now they try to distance themselves from the 2,000-year-old connotation.
