Books Stumptown Comics Fest: Cat Edition

Posted by Alison Hallett on Mon, Apr 28 at 11:11 AM

I hope everybody made it to the Stumptown Comics Fest over the weekend, it was lotsa fun. Among other highlights, Nicholas Gurewitch signed my copy of this week’s Mercury, and I got my picture taken holding a ginormous library card!

Since I couldn’t take pictures of all the participants, I had to narrow my photo-journey somehow…

Aron Nels Steinke and the Super Crazy Cat Dance. (Steinke also does the Ristretto ads that appear in our paper.)

The extremely nice Tessa at Tessa's Braces makes funny little minicomics about haircuts and boys. She does not however a HAVE a cat (she is in fact a mouse owner), and the way she shrewdly capitalized on cat cuteness makes me suspect that there may be a touch of evil genius at work here.

Eddie Perkins and from Atomicpanda and his cat art—the cat prints went fast, he told me.

Queequeg, losing his shit over one of Sarah Oleksyk's screenprinted, catnip-filled cat toys. (He scratched the hell out of me, BTW. The things I do for you, Blog Town.)

This is not at all cat related, but the Multnomah County Library had a booth with graphic novels available for checkout. And even after I confessed that I owe the library $46 in overdue fines, they still let me get my picture taken with a giant library card!

Librarians are the best. The end!
