This happens twice a year, and it’s always pretty great when it does: Beloved Portland comics shop Excalibur Comics (2444 SE Hawthorne) is once again having their big 50 percent off sale, which applies to all back issues and all manga graphic novels. It starts today and ends Monday, May 26, and if there’s a better excuse for snagging a bunch of old comics, I can’t think of it—a few years ago, I spent a few bucks and picked up a ridiculously huge stack of old issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, which I’ve been gradually working my way through ever since.

Time to pick up some missed gems...

Speaking as a lifelong comic fan who has many bookshelves swelling with graphic novels: I hope they use the proceeds to pay someone to take down the cringe-worthy painted junk in the windows.

I'm also having a back issue sale in my comic/toy room.

50% off the cover price of all my crap.
