• Republican nominee John McCain makes a slight error in judgment (in that he’s supposed to be a presidential nominee and he’s sitting on his ass instead of running for president).
• In a happy turn of events, the Senate ignored the President’s threatened veto and poured tons of social service money into Bush’s Iraq war spending bill. Fly on, lame eagle, fly on.
• Condoleeza Rice defends the tough torture techniques used on prisoners post 9/11. Because as we all know, how can you tell if someone’s a witch unless you hold them underwater?
• Even though gay marriage is now legal in California, “San Diego County Clerk Gregory Smith said he would consider allowing clerks to bow out of processing such marriages if they had moral or religions objections.” Does this mean I no longer have to stop at red lights because of my religious beliefs?
• According to Clinton fundraisers, Obama risks losing unless he invites Hillary to be the Vice President. OH REALLY? What are these guys going to do? “LOSE” us to death?
• In the R. Kelly child sexual abuse trial, prosecutors are presenting friends and family members who are positively identifying Kelly and an underage girl having sex in a video. Unbelievable! You’d think from the words to his song “SEX PLANET” he’s not interested in sex at all!
Off topic, I know, but can everyone pause and acknowledge what a rag the Oregonian is. Today's cover story, devoted to an NBA basketball star who plays in...Los Angeles.
That seems kind of f'ed to me. Are there really no worthy news items to throw on the front page in our own lovely state?
Also, John Canzano spent his visit at our journalism class hitting on some student and telling her she had the face for broadcast. Make me puke!
Hillary could still win with a superdelegate coup. Oregon’s Governor & Superdelegate Ted Kulongoski is in his last term and has already endorsed Clinton. A Superdelegate in a position like his won’t need a monetary offer to participate in convincing other delegates at the convention to switch to Hillary. The political payoff from the future Clinton administration is quite attractive enough. And no one will know the backroom deals that have occurred once the Democratic convention is over.
Please sign this petition asking Oregon superdelegates to vote for Obama and unify the Democratic party so we can start focusing on the how to beat McSame.

I love this... "Does this mean I no longer have to stop at red lights because of my religious beliefs?" EXACTLY! I mean, how absurd of that San Diego clerk's office!
double up is one of the best records in my collection.
