Hope you like your funny books, cinephiles. Following the news that Iron Man grossed $85 kajillion this weekend, today Marvel Studios announced their upcoming plans. Immediately up: this summer’s The Incredible Hulk and 2009’s awkwardly titled X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and then…

Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer—a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.

The full story is here.

Iron Man was a blast (a REPULSOR BLAST! Ha ha ugh I hate myself), but Hulk looks like it could suck, Wolverine’s gonna have a lot to make up for after how shitty that third X-Men was, and… Captain America and Thor? Really? I mean, I know this’ll all combine to hopefully make one badass Avengers movie, with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. and Ed Norton and whoever they get to play Captain America (Titan!) and Thor (um, OBVIOUSLY), but it’s really hard to imagine a live-action film with either Cap or Thor that wouldn’t just be goofy.

Plus, everyone else on the planet fucking hates America right now, so I can’t imagine Captain America would be a huge hit overseas, you know? Also plus, you really can’t top the first Cap movie, so I don’t know why anyone would even try.

Thanks, AICN.
