News Kroger Wins, Brown Wins, Novick…er…unsure…

Posted by Matt Davis on Tue, May 20 at 9:40 PM

Here at the Benson Hotel, John Kroger has declared victory in the primary race for attorney general, against corporate lawyer Greg Macpherson. “The campaign shows grassroots politics actually works,” he says. “I feel great. We felt there was a lot of good energy out there, but we really didn’t know what was going to happen until tonight. More than a thousand people made it happen, and I’m really excited for everyone who’s here tonight.”johnkrogerwins.jpg
Meanwhile Kate Brown has declared victory in her primary race against former news anchor Rick Metzger in the battle for secretary of state. “I’m really excited. We ran a very comprehensive field campaign, talking to more than 40,000 voters,” she said. “We’re certainly going to keep working hard. I’ve just beaten one newscaster, now I’m looking forward to beating another…” referring, presumably, to her Republican rival in the general election. This is officially the worst photograph I have EVER taken. Sorry Kate:

Meanwhile Steve Novick’s campaign staff are frantically scanning the latest sets of statistics as they come in. The DJ has played “best of my love” and “party like its 1999,” in an effort, it seems to boost the chances of Novick winning. They’ve been flashing the lights and it’s rumored Novick will address the crowd in the next ten minutes….novickparty.jpg
We’ll let you know what happens…Metro’s David Bragdon just got up and said, “I really don’t have much to say, but we’ll be hearing from Steve in the next ten or fifteen minutes.” Perfect timing for a Nat Sherman…
