The Multnomah County Democrats only endorse members of the Democratic party, even though city races are non-partisan. They endorsed almost every candidate for city council—everyone but unaffiliated voter Jeff Bissonnette in the race for seat 1, everyone but Ed Garren and Harold Williams Two in seat 2, and just Randy Leonard in seat 4—and Sam Adams for mayor.
The local Republicans, however, were a bit more picky. Not everyone attended their endorsement interviews—I’ve got a message in to get a rundown of who did and didn’t—and very few were endorsed: Just Sho Dozono and Amanda Fritz in the city races. The announcement is below.
(Click on it for a bigger version. The descriptions of Adams, Bissonnette, and Branam are priceless.)
Edit: I originally looked at the wrong list, of Dems’ endorsement questionnaires—not actual endorsements—and inadvertently listed Dozono as having received the Dems’ endorsement; Adams received their sole endorsement, however.
If they like Sho and Fritz so much, why would they turn around and endorse them?
I don't recall getting their endorsement in 2006, and I am a Republican.

Do they outsource these endorsements to the local High School Republican Club? "Nanny-statist managing the lives of others"? Double points for working Ayn Rand into the next sentence. Who over 17 actually talks like this?
