Election 2008 Novick Concedes…”Get Behind Merkley…”

Posted by Matt Davis on Tue, May 20 at 10:13 PM

Little-man hookster Steve Novick has given a marvelous concession speech. “Well, my friends, we thought we were gonna stick it to the man, but in the end, as usual, the man stuck it to us. But for a while there…” [massive cheer…] “for a while there it looked like we had the man on the run and on the ropes,” he said. “In many ways the last few weeks of this campaign has reminded me of the last scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” he said. “A couple of outlaws against the entire Bolivian army. But now the movie’s over, and we need to get behind Jeff Merkley for the US Senate.”stevenovickconcedes.jpgNovick thanked his team. “They make me feel like Castro,” he said. “Young Castro!”

Neil Diamond

After canceling his September performance in Portland, Neil Diamond is back and ready to blow us out of our seats! Fine, maybe he won’t “blow us,” but I bet he’ll come to the stage locked and loaded with hits such as “Cherry, Cherry,” “Sweet Caroline,” and “I’m a Believer.” And does anybody remember “Heartlight”? I do! WSH
