Food Pancake Puffs? You’re Pan-tastic!

So I got the crap flu last week, right? Which meant I got to watch A LOT of infomercials on TV, right? But there was one in particular that really caught my eye so much, a friend actually bought it for me! We tried it out today here in the office for our “$5 Food Challenge” (check next week’s Mercury for details on that clustereff), and what can I say? IT’S THE MOST AMAZING INVENTION OF THIS OR ANY OTHER CENTURY! Or as the commercial says, it’s “pan-tastic.”
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Pancake Puffs! (Also available at Walgreens!)

So many things you can inject! (Your suggestions welcome below.)

I'd like to inject that I loved them the first time, when they were (and are still) called aebleskivers.

Ok, seriously, are these as fucking sweet at they look? Because I've seen that damn informercial about a million times and I've been ready to sell any bodily fluids (yes, ANY... wink, wink) to get a hold of one.

I also saw this fabulous product while I had the flu and watched hundreds of infomercials on daytime TV! I think a better name would be "The Pancake Poppler"

Neil Diamond After canceling his September performance in Portland, Neil Diamond is back and ready to blow us out of our seats! Fine, maybe he won’t “blow us,” but I bet he’ll come to the stage locked and loaded with hits such as “Cherry, Cherry,” “Sweet Caroline,” and “I’m a Believer.” And does anybody remember “Heartlight”? Local artist and electronic musician ERock returns to oils for a group of enormous psychedelic paintings, while fellow Portlander Josh Orion Kermiet presents a series of intricately collaged Xeroxes and ink drawings of castles and caves. If that weren’t enough, Stumptown will also be showing work by L.A.’s Sumi Ink Club: Sarah Anderson and Luke Fischbeck, who record experimental music as Lucky Dragons. Stumptown Coffee (Downtown), 128 SW 3rd Ave., Jon Raymond: Livability Portlander Jon Raymond wrote the short stories on which the films Old Joy and the recent Michelle Williams vehicle Wendy and Lucy are based. The stories in his collection Livability are, like those films, understated and captivating, full of quiet insights. Forget Chuck Palahniuk—Raymond is the local author you should be reading.
