TV R.I.P. Dick Martin: “You Bet Your Sweet Bippy!”

Posted by Wm. Steven Humphrey on Tue, May 27 at 11:09 AM

God speed to comedian DICK MARTIN, best known as the other half of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, and who passed away at the ripe age of 86. A precursor of sorts to Saturday Night Live, Laugh-In was a super-stylized hippie-era comedy show that was extremely popular in the late ’60s for it’s rapid fire jokes that depended largely on physical comedy, sexual innuendo, and often, both at the same time. Martin is the goofy non-mustached one of the pair, but stick around for the “Sock it to me” portion of this video which features Goldie Hawn, Milton Berle, and then President Nixon.
