Rose Festival Parade Camp-Out 2008 has officially begun!

That’s the corner of SW Broadway and Alder, if you want to stop by for the festivities. We’re in front of Portland Coffee House, about a block north of Pioneer Square. (Bonus: Portland Coffee House was very kind to us last year on the clean-up patrol, and let us use the restrooms.)

And check out Steve’s “Jr. Inspector” hat—now he, too, can enforce the sidewalk duct tape ban!

So.... instead of duct taping a spot on the ground you put up an awning and that's somehow better/different because?

Because this is the real tradition. Because we've made friends with a ton of strangers. Because we aren't leaving behind duct tape that's going to be stuck here for months. And because we haven't been lazy and entitled and left 'our' spot and expected it to be here waiting for us on Saturday morning.
