TV Lou Ferrigno: Old, Creepy, Awkward.

Posted by Erik Henriksen on Mon, Jun 9 at 4:35 PM

So despite my better judgment—or any kind of judgment at all, really—I kind of love American Gladiators. That said, I’m not sure if I can make it through this. From American Gladiators Blog (your ONLY source for up-to-the-second American Gladiators news!):

Tonights episode of American Gladiators will be a special “Hulk” themed episode with guest star Lou Ferrigno from the original “Incredible Hulk” tv series. The Hulk themed episode will feature a hulked out Gladiator Arena and an exclusive 60-second preview from the upcoming movie “The Incredible Hulk”. The new movie which stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt opens four days later on June 13th.

The Hulk themed episode will also feature a redone L.A. Sports Arena with the pool being green, green lighting, green graphics and green balls for Powerball. Audience members were given 1,000 pairs of Hulk hands to wear throughout the episode and some will wear Hulk masks. Also Gladiators competing in the Gauntlet will use Hulk Hands to stop the oncoming contenders.

Funny story: NBC is part of media juggernaut NBC Universal, which also owns Universal Studios, and Universal is distributing The Incredible Hulk, and The Incredible Hulk has had, shall we say, some production problems, and I think it’s fair to assume some people at Universal are just a teensy bit worried about this Hulk business, hence… well, whatever this is. THERE NO PUBLIC RELATIONS PROBLEM IN HOLLYWOOD TITAN CAN’T FIX! TITAN SMASH GHOST OF ANG LEE!

God, Lou Ferrigno looks uncomfortable.

American Gladiators airs tonight at 8 on NBC. Thanks to FilmDrunk for the clip.

Neil Diamond

After canceling his September performance in Portland, Neil Diamond is back and ready to blow us out of our seats! Fine, maybe he won’t “blow us,” but I bet he’ll come to the stage locked and loaded with hits such as “Cherry, Cherry,” “Sweet Caroline,” and “I’m a Believer.” And does anybody remember “Heartlight”? I do! WSH
