Film M. Night Shyamalan on NPR’s Science Friday.

I might be the only person on the planet who hasn’t totally written off M. Night Shyamalan at this point. And I really dig NPR’s Science Friday, wherein host Ira Flatow takes over the radio waves to talk about how totally bitchin’ science is. (Which it is. Science is totally bitchin’.) Anyway, Shyamalan’s on right now talking about science and how it can be used to promote his new film, The Happening—it’s a pretty interesting interview, and you can stream it right here.

I haven't written of M Knight yet either, but his interview was less than fantastic. Interesting how he called out Ira for his question about the ending of the film.

Have you seen Lady in The Water?

What more does he need to do destroy your faith in him as a filmmaker?

In this interview M Knight sounds like a friggin idiot, and erroneously claims Einstein as having become some kind of born-again at the end of his career because, apparently, the fact that our understanding of the universe isn't complete means that the holes in our understanding indicate something mystical.

I think Dawkins is an ass, but I would love to see him take on Shyamalan, who probably loves science only for its value when co-opted by Hollywood.
