Posted by Matt Davis on Fri, Aug 22, 2008 at 4:18 PM

Matt Drudge is running all the way with reports that a Kansas city company is printing Obama/Bayh bumper stickers:

Bayh's from Indiana. So much for my goddamn text message.

Yeah, 'cause the Obama campaign would print such ass-ugly stickers that look nothing like any of the rest of the campaign materials.

It's Biden anyways. The AP is reporting it and ABC is saying the Secret Service is now protecting Bidens house.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt
32nd President, Democrat

Term of Office: March 1933 - April 1945

ROOSEVELT INTRODUCED THE SOCIAL SECURITY
PROGRAM AND PROMISED:

1.) That participation in the Program would
be completely voluntary.

2.) That participants would only have to
pay 1% of the first $1400 of their annual incomes into the
program.

3.) That the money the participants elected
to put into the program would be deductible from their
income each year for income tax purposes.

4.) That the money the participants put in
would go into an independent "Trust Fund" rather than into
the General Operating Fund, and, therefore, would only be
used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program and no
other program.

5.) That the annuity payments to the
retirees would never be taxed as income.

Many of us have paid into FICA for years and
are now receiving a monthly Social Security check - - and we
are being taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal
Government to "put away" for us. What happened to all the
promises the Democrats made?

Lyndon Baines Johnson
36th President, Democrat.
Term of Office: November 1963 to January
1969

Question: Who took Social Security from the
independent "Trust Fund" and put it into the General Fund so
that Congress could spend it?

Answer: President Lyndon B. Johnson,
Democrat, and the Democrat-controlled Congress.

Question: Which political party eliminated
the income tax deduction for Social Security Withholding?

Answer: The Democratic Party.

James Earl Carter
39th President, Democrat.
Term of Office: January 1977 to January
1981

Question: Which political party decided to
start giving Social Security annuity payments to immigrants,
even if they never paid into the fund?

Answer: James Earl Carter and the
Democratic Party.

William Jefferson Clinton
42nd President, Democrat.
Term of Office: January 1993 to January
2001

Question: Which political party started
taxing Social Security payments?

Answer: The Democratic party, with Vice
President Al Gore casting the tie-breaking vote as President
of the Senate.

After violating the original Social Security
contract with the people, the Democrats turn around and tell
you that the Republicans want to take your social security
away! All this from a Democrat-controlled Congress that has
voted themselves a 100% retirement pension after serving
only one term!

We need to remember what Thomas Jefferson,
our 3rd President, and a Democrat once said: "A government
big enough to give you everything is strong enough to take
everything you have.

To those of you who have not reached
retirement age ...don't be mad at old people, just remember
who did this to you when you vote....

The lesson: be very afraid of Democrats. Never mind that the republican administration has grown government like it has a serious gland problem and has no problem with picking your pockets to give more money to the rich guy (what were you going to do with it anyway ... pay a bill or something?). Never mind that the current administration's economic policies have turned this country into a hollowed-out version of its former self.

Certainly ignore the fact that the last Democratic president presided over the first budget surplus in recent memory. Please don't look at that.

Even if you accept that Democrats have run such ruin over the Social Security System (via a few skillfully cherry-picked examples) here's the question one really should ask oneself: why is it that the republican party have really been pretty okay with it?

I suppose the next thing we'll see around these parts is the S-word ("socialism" [cue theremin]). Lord, I'd hate to be socialist, like oppressive countries like Sweden, where the government works and the standard of living is high.

Someone please protect me from that!

Can we please agree now that Drudge has at last jumped the shark?

I'd rather agree that the phrase jump the shark has jumped the shark, or something - I'm feeling like I read it on here once a day.
