Man o' man, there are a lot of great readings coming up.

Tonight: Paul Auster reads from Man in the Dark at Powell's, 7:30 pm

Tomorrow: Live Wire is dedicating this month's show to State by State, the essay collection that's the subject of the newest Powell's Out of the Book film. Lydia Millet, Carrie Brownstein, Daphne Beal, and Sean Wilsey will all be appearing. Read more about the project here, and win tickets here to the Tuesday screening of the film (all you have to do is explain why your state of birth qualifies YOU for the vice presidency).

Sunday: Chuck Klosterman reads from his first novel, Downtown Owl; Powell's, 7:30 pm. Erik Henriksen interviewed Klosterman for his review; read it here.

Monday: Irvine Welsh is at Powell's, 7:30 pm, reading from his new novel Crime (Courtney liked it); and Powell's is screening the State by State film at the Bagdad, 7 pm, $5

As always, get yer book listings here.
