The greatest Portland band ever, The Dandy Warhols, are in need of a new web designer (or to them, an ALL CAPS "SUPER NERD") to make them a fancy new website and they've taken to Craigslist:
The Dandy Warhols are in desperate need of a SUPER NERD to help us make our web presence work for us. Our website was designed by aritst and has ZERO functionality.
Hey, sounds pretty cool. I wonder if the designer will get some of that commercial licensing trickle down cash?
This job pays garbage.
Oh, that is unfortunate. I wonder how much "garbage" is?
All said, you'll be on the front lines with a reasonably high profile revamp to add to your resume and you'll probably squeeze more than a few free drinks out of me/us. Concert tickets etc.
The good news? You get paid in drinks.
The bad news? You get Dandy Warhols concert tickets.
Have fun paying rent with those.

OMG the worst over-hyped band from Portland (Above even Craving Theo & Smootchknob)... Their frontman should get the coveted Portland's Biggest Douche merit award for acts of high douchedom.

I met Courtney, the lead singer recently and Peter the guitarist. They were the nicest guys. Very down to earth, excuse the pun. Their music is great and they are one of my favorite bands!
absolutely hilarious that they've got money to pay their douchebag "artist" buddy to throw together some crappy comps, but not a dollar to pay a backend developer. and that they want Drupal without knowing why! loooooooool.
Every kid on the block has a CMS. I want one too! At least the developer can burn the tickets for heat, though. Winter's a-comin'.

I remember listening to a string of call ins to a local radio show wherein local musicans lampooned the DWs for serial obnoxious douchebaggery. they had to cut the segment short due to the lack of time remaining because the stories of courtney being a schmuck. ive witnessed it on many occassions.

I personally don't get the Dandy hate, but then again I like my rock stars with a bit of pretentiousness (c.f. Jon Spencer, Stephen Malkmus). Either way, they put on a great show at the Roseland on Sunday.
