Portugal The Man Visits the Land of the Lost

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 11:07 AM

I feel as if I haven't sung the praises of Censored Colors--the glorious new recording from the local boys in Portugal the Man--as much as I should have. Sure to find a home on my year end best-of list, the album is difficult to pin down under any one genre, yet it still feels cohesive throughout. And now they have a video!

This well-shot clip for "Lay Me Back Down" feels like it took place in a parallel universe to Land of the Lost. Granted, there are no dinosaurs, or Sleestaks, present--they blew their production budget on those bikinis and gold paint--there is some sort of hologram man, with a stick. And a rock.

Only Cha-Ka can save them now.

End Hits: We can't get this theme song out of our head.
