Alma Chocolate's Rising Star

Posted by Patrick Alan Coleman on Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 11:55 AM

Sarah Hart, owner of Alma Chocolate (140 NE 28th Avenue), has won the "Rising Star" award at the Next Generation Chocolatier Awards in NYC. Described on Alma's website as the "Pulitzer of the artisan chocolate world," the award is given to a chocolatier who is doing the most interesting things with chocolate and showing the most amount of promise. It's awarded every two years.

Longtime Alma employee, Sabrina Hicks, is duly excited and certainly not surprised. "I think it's awesome," she told the me, "She has a great group of people working for her and a great palate."

And now she has an award to prove it! Congrats, Sarah!
