Twisty Cat Thursday!

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 2:07 PM

Normally Alison is in charge of the Mercury's "Cat Beat." However, I know if I passed this video on to her, there's no way in a billion years she'd post it. IT'S THAT DISTURBING.

Ladies and gentlemen, please say hello to the TWISTY CATS. Cats that have been bred to have inverted elbows -- on the flip-side, even though they walk around on floppy stumps, they're still ADORABLE. So there's that.

Anyway, this video (originally shown on Animal Planet's Weird, True and Freaky) is going to freak your shit out -- SO BE WARNED. And don't kill the messenger. I didn't breed the cats to look like this. And besides, isn't taking care of this sort of problem Barack Obama's job?

This is why animal breeders should be allowed to... breed.

Why did the breeder just have to have a southern accent?

Jesus christ... just google twisty cat. this was internet news a solid 10 years ago. It's animal abuse of the most heinous sort, and there's nothing new to be said. If you need to give these sick fucks any attention, please condemn any and all breeders. Any attention other than abject condemnation is just feeding the morons that think this sort of thing is acceptable.

I meant to say "This is why animal breeders should NOT be allowed to... breed."

I adopted a Twisty from the NYC ASPCA. She was scared and unfriendly and no one wanted to adopt her because of her self protection. She's a survivor and I try to make her life as normal as possible.

I do worry when she jumps off the chair( I try to put a stepping ladder for her) when she flies off.

Otherwise, she's a lady who stands her ground. as a matter of fact, she went after "Prince" the ragdoll cat who found his way under my house (23lbs abd all muscle). Poor guy ran away from her at 30 mph!!!

I would never breed this type. A loving home with other cats who accept her would be the ideal situation to adopt.

If you want to save this type of kittie, just love them, accept them, and make their lives as normal and comfortable ,as possible. Their licks of gratitude will be your reward.
