Mercury reader Jason spotted this unbelievable sign on Lombard and MLK:

I don't keep obsessive track of gas prices since the price for me is always the same but I'm wondering if this means that TriMet might lose less money than it thought?
I mean, look at this plunge! TriMet raised fares in part because they spent $4 million more on gas than planned - maybe they'll recoup some of the budget now that we've hit the lowest price in two years.

p.s. Despite firmly believing that gas prices are set via oil company/OPEC conspiracy, I did some brief internet research and found that, according to non-oil company haters, prices are mostly set by this guy:

That's even scarier.
