I'm working on a full scale review of Left 4 Dead for The Mercury as you read these words, but something has been sticking in my craw since I started playing the game almost a week back.
I don't know that I can express my feelings on the subject with the necessary eloquence -- such is my rage -- so instead I'll rely on The Critic to elucidate on my behalf (as is my wont in matters of great import).
Get all that?
Now replace the avian pilot with a sprinting zombie and you'll begin to grasp what I'm getting at.
Post Script: The followup clip is also pretty relevant, assuming your powerful imagination can replace "stewardesses" with "ragtag zombocalypse survivors," and the "bagged" euphemism with the phrase "vomited onto."

I, for one, am totally disappointed in Left 4 Dead. I haven't heard a good review yet. The game takes 2 hours to beat, according to my friends, or 6 hours for an XBOX novice like myself.
I've read nothing but good fan reviews except for yours Roseharding.
I don't tend to read anything too critical on games regarding fans or critics as gamers are such a fickle bunch of frazzled fooforalla's.
All the dudes I play Counter Strike with and all the dudes I play Cod4 with are gushing on the game. We'll see...
You can finish it in 2 hours if you're playing on easy. Who wants to play it on easy? The game gets its replay value from playing campaigns with a group of friends, and the versus mode, where you can also play as the zombies. The single player is probably 5% of the game, tops.
Also, who gives a shit if this game has running zombies?
There's a school of the zombie purists vs the neo-zombie fans. The zombie purists are the zombies from the original Dawn of the Dead. Neo zombie fans appreciate the 28 days later zombie that is hyper aggressive and runs and jumps.
I for one prefer to think that zombies will be zombies. They will moan, stick their arms out, and let me push them down with a cricket bat.
Steeef, um, there really is no single player.
That's all I'm saying for now. More to come in my review.
