You like me. You really like me.

It's good to know that an America as diverse as ours can be represented by an equally diverse internet. Case in point is thankyoupresidentgeorgewbush.com, where you can thank president Bush for protecting America during his eight years in office. Essentially an on-line petition, users are able to sign their virtual name to the following letter:

Dear President Bush,

Thank you for all you have done to protect me from danger. It has been seven years since my country was attacked and some of my friends have been killed. Words cannot express my appreciation for the way you have handled one of the largest crises my country has ever faced. I know that you are not working alone to keep me safe, but as commander-in-chief, I could not have felt more secure with anyone other than you at the helm. Thank you for being a man of integrity, morals, selflessness and love for your fellow man. You are truly an inspiration.
God bless you and thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The site is not a joke (funny, yes, but not a joke) and touts 1000 sincere signatures from Bush fans across the nation. But more pleasing are those who have signed the petition with names like "Broke as a Joke. Thanks a ton W..," and "Abu Ghriab."

A link on the site, beneath the letter, for "people are consumed with hate" links to a page with the following note:

This is a simple non-political thank you note to President George W. Bush for his 8 years of efforts in protecting the sanctity of human life.

I want to thank ALL sites that have added this as a link.

Keep in mind that all who are using this site in a non-sincere way, I love you and am praying for you so please sign your real name so that I can ask God to protect you in life against danger.

God Bless!

Signed,

A Fellow American

Well, A Fellow American, you're welcome.

UPDATE: Wonkette is reporting that the webmaster for this site is working as fast as little fingers will let him to keep the dick jokes and profanity off the signature list. I've been watching the list as well and can confirm that it's swinging wildly between 900 and 1040 signatures...
