Speaking of masterminds, "alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four co-defendants have told a military judge at Guantanamo Bay they want to confess and plead guilty." Wow, it only took seven years of torture.

The Detroit bailout is "very likely" to happen, the White House says today.

Score one for Obama: The Supreme Court turned down the appeal from a guy who claims the President-elect isn't a "natural born citizen."

Toting signs that say "You got bailed out, we got sold out," laid-off Republic Windows and Doors factory workers in Chicago are on day four of a sit-in. (That's what the owners/management deserve, for laying them off with three days notice, with no severance offer.)

Two puppies kept a lost 3-year-old warm all night, after he got lost in the woods (and the temp dipped to 17 degrees). All together now: Awww. Puppies!

Public transit ridership is up 6.5 percent around the country, even as gas prices have eased. Hooray! Better service now, please.

In his forthcoming book, Karl Rove plans to "name names and show examples" of people who were "unreceiving [of George W. Bush] as president of the United States." Ooo! Name me!
