Homeless Workers Threaten Wage Strike

Posted by Matt Davis on Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 4:24 PM

We didn't have space in this week's paper to run a photo of the workers at Transition Projects, Inc, who were quoted in the story about their threatened wage strike. But in the interests of having them out in front of the information, so to speak, here it is:

Clockwise from the back: Hugh Singh, the laundry and clothing coordinator at TPI's men's shelter at NW 5th and Glisan, Rob Wheaton, union organizer for AFSCME, Rachel Hansen, who works in veterans' care at the same shelter as Singh, and Elvyss Argueta, who helps 500 homeless people a day at the shelter's service access center reception desk.
