Warming And Boxing

I went on a tour of the city's homeless warming centers last night. More in the paper next week, but in the mean time I thought you might enjoy these two pictures. First, this is the family warming center at NE 81st and Clackamas, waiting for its clients to arrive...

Second, the building used to house a bridge club, a print shop, and in the basement, a boxing gym. On the wall downstairs were scrawled the names of some of the boxers: Matt "lilsuave" Norwich; Pierre "Pinky" Velasquez; Trent "The Sandman" Standing; Ryan "The lilking" Trent...

Based on their handwriting, I would say the "Sandman" was the toughest cat to walk those halls.
