Mayor Potter Calls A Snow Day

Posted by Matt Davis on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 1:28 PM

"Due to worsening weather conditions and Tri-Met's reduction in transit service, all City offices are closed effective immediately. All non-essential employees are released from work. All employees who reported to work today will be paid for their entire work day. Employees who did not come to work today must follow the City's inclement weather policy and use accrued leave to cover their absence."

Will we unemployed people get paid for today too?

I'm easily as nonessential as most city employees, plus I did my part to reduce our city's carbon footprint by not leaving the house at all.

Portland, the city that works, er, I guess not actually!
They sure as hell don't know how to keep the streets open!
BUT, on a positive note, the street car is still running!
