Pinocchio's Closes

Posted by Patrick Alan Coleman on Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 1:32 PM

I wanted so badly to rhyme "noses" at some point in the blog title, but that would have been insensitive.

It was reported today that Pinocchio's, the theater district Italian joint, has closed. It wasn't much of a surprise around here—The Mercury had received an anonymous call this last fall telling us that Pinnochio's employees had allegedly not been paid for awhile. We were unable to reach anyone for comment.

Pinocchio's wasn't necessarily lauded for its cuisine. It's likely that we'll see more mediocre restaurants falling to the wayside during the course of this recession as more potential restaurant patrons decide to stay home rather than taking a chance at a poorly reviewed eatery.

I offer condolences to the staff and I hope they all find work again soon.

It's "falling by the waistline" Patrick.

Pacifically, it's the waistline part you got incorrected.

Your welcome.
