Ask a Republican

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 at 5:06 PM

Want to know what Republicans currently think about Sam Adams? Well, one calls Adams a sociopath. From NW Republican, Dare!PDX writes:

If Sam Adams was an attorney, a CPA, a financial adviser, law enforcement officer as well as many other state certified professions he would no longer be worthy to practice his profession. Regardless of a crime being proven. He has shown he is capable of administering a massive lie before the public with no remorse. He is a sociopath who cannot be trusted with the public treasury.

Well, at least the Oregonian didn't call him that.

Sociopath?

What's more sociopathic: sleeping with an 18-year old or calling affordable health care "socialist" and refusing to institute single-payer health care so people don't have to declare bankruptcy because they had the audacity to have cancer? Because, after all, if one wants health care, one should GET A JOB! Cancer patients are LAZY!

I'm a little giddy. You'll have to excuse me. But calling Sam Adams a sociopath is, frankly, silly.

One whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience.

Yeah he bailed on the meetings required by his job, obviously his moral and responsibility is questionable. Appears to fit. All this time I had thought the word much more harsh than it really is.

I also question what it would take for Sam's supporters to throw up their hands in frustration at his boondoggles? It appears one can have 20 years of public service, be gay, and you are untouchable pertaining to the unethical actions you commit in the future.

But that stuff is so ridiculous and on the fringe that it's much less dangerous than the kind of manipulation the Oregonian is pulling out.

Wait, the Oregonian has done actual reporting with the Breedlove interview. The WW has done actual reporting with blowing this open. We come on blogtown to get the links to those two sources, and videos about broken tri-met ticket machines.

All politicians are sociopaths. All successful ones, anyway...

The Oregonian editorial bored may not have used that same language, but in their drunken self-righteousness, the message implied was the same.
