Fish and Leonard are Told Adams Won't Resign

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 at 12:16 PM

From the O:

City Commissioner Randy Leonard says the embattled Portland mayor left him a message this morning saying he's not resigning his job in the wake of a sex scandal. And Commissioner Nick Fish said Adams told him the same thing.

Leonard, who would temporarily become mayor should Adams step down, said he could not believe it.

"I think we're living in a fairly sane city that is caught up in some very crazy antics," he said. "I do not understand what he is possibly thinking at this point."

Fish spoke to Adams sometime between 8 and 9 a.m.

"It was very short. I was half-asleep," Fish said. "He said he was going to be making an announcement and appreciated the fact that he would have the opportunity to have due process. I said I looked forward to getting back to work."

In one of the most remarkable comebacks in the history of Political gamesmanship SAM ADAMS has pulled ahead!

The crowd is on its feet with unbelievable hysteria!

Will Sam Adams hold on to his slim lead, or will the news media come back to take the lead once more?

Don't miss the exciting conclusion of

SAM ADAMS VS THE PORTLAND MEDIA.

Oregonian has the ball, this game could go into SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME!

Must be a WWire embargo at the Merc, since they had this much earlier than that Oregonian post. ;)

Is there irony in that Amy Ruiz might be picking up some of these exclusives had she still been on the Merc Payroll?
