Media / News Shoe Thrower Statue Unveiled

Saddam Hussein's hometown has unveiled a statue dedicated to Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the Iraqi journalist who threw a shoe at George Bush last month:

Meanwhile, I'm wondering whether anybody in Portland plans to unveil some form of monument to the dead horse controversy that continues to be flogged. And what form it might take...perhaps a golden urinal, or some form of restroom plaque?

Apparently Mercury staff are no longer allowed to have any time the day after publication. You're expected to work seven days a week, 24 hours a day, goddamit.

Oh, and forget about having any time to research news, posting hourly on your blog is far more important.
