When God Closes a Cart, She Gives Us Another Tart

Posted by Patrick Alan Coleman on Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 8:16 AM

Big news in Sweetsville over the weekend is that the much loved Sugar Cube cart will no longer be in operation. But before you go ballistic and start a sugar riot, know that Kir Jensen, the sweetness behind the Sugar Cube’s sweetness, has joined the team of tarts over at Two Tarts Bakery (making it three tarts?).

Jensen, who has been known to inflate a waistline or two with her triple threat chocolate chip cookies, will be carting some of her cart recipe’s to two tarts, including the afore mentioned cookies. Other Sugar Cube treats will be available for special order at Two Tarts.

Via a cheery Valentines Day e-mail, Jensen encouraged Sugar Cube lovers to stop by and say hi to her at Two Tarts Bakery (2309 NW Kearny):

I really want to thank all of you for supporting me and The Sugar Cube this past year. Opening and running the cart was a special labor of love for me, and getting to know all of you means more to me than you can possibly know.

Jensen’s special brand of sugar skills will be a welcome addition to the already incredible Two Tarts line up. We wish them all the best of luck.

Oh! And the recipe for those triple threat cookies will be in the next issue of Sunset Magazine.
