Odd City Law Of The Month

Posted by Matt Davis on Fri, Feb 20, 2009 at 11:18 AM

Never mind the Sit/Lie ordinance. Don't interfere with anyone's privacy:

A. It is unlawful for any person to look through a window, transom, or door into the dwelling of another with the intent to interfere with the privacy of an occupant.

B. As used in this Section, "dwelling" includes a building or part of a building in which a person temporarily lodges.

Hmm... apparently you don't have to be on a persons lawn. It would seem to apply to someone walking down the public sidewalk looking at a house and noting the activities of the occupants throught the front window. Or walking down the hall and looking into your roommate's room if he left the door open.

And why isn't privacy defined?

Way to go Portland! More well written clear laws that really set out what is criminal and what isn't!

I'm not trying to invade anyone's privacy. Just procuring mental ammo for my alone loving.
