A Message to You Rudy

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Tue, Mar 10, 2009 at 8:03 AM

There's an awful lot of footage of Rudy Fernandez being mugged fouled during last night's game, but we chose the en Español version in honor of Rudy, who (according to a team press release) "sustained a soft tissue injury to his right upper chest and side area," and he was "kept overnight at an area hospital for observation."

And for all those keeping track at home, we're exactly one month away from the Lakers return to the Rose Garden, where Joel Przybilla will most likely unhinge his jaw and swallow Trevor Ariza whole.

That was my thought too. If you're Trevor Ariza, stay away from Joel.

that whole fucking team should be suspended - did you see his so-called 'apology' headlined in the LA Times? because i looked hard through the quotes in that article, and there wasn't any fucking apology. lotta excuses, tho.

odom is another fucking lying liar who lies. he schooled Ariza on that move last year using Roy as a target. fuck odom anyway, who gets up to cheer when someone's been clobbered like that? i'm amazed roy kept his cool - *i'd* have fucking thrown a punch at that punk.

if we wanted to see a brawl, we'd put on the WWF. this is supposed to be basketball.

A flagrant two is supposed to be called when the defender has fouled and is not making a play for the ball. Ariza's hand was clearly going for the ball. The sole reason that a flagrant two was called is because it looked bad.

At that speed, Ariza should have been more careful but in turn he did what anyone in the league that wanted to win the game would have done. He made a play for the ball.

Anyone that thinks Ariza was deliberately trying to hurt Rudy is a putz.

And less the putz community forget, Odom was reacting to the Blazers going after the Lakers after the foul. The smack talk on the Lakers part didn't help... Hence, the technical.

Hey Alf, shut it.

Did yall see that the Willamette Week actually had a Lakers fan do their live blogging last night? That's pretty much inexcusable in my book.

As a native Oregonian, I must add something offensive: I hate Californians, and if they insist on moving up here to douchebag-ify our land, they sure as hell better leave their love of the Lakers behind. Alf, I'm looking at you.

Ugh, that Wweek live blog reeks like crap.

The Willamette Week is the Poochy the Rockin' Dog of weeklies!

Blabby: that's not so much offensive as it is rote commentary for a native Oregonian. (for the record, I grew up in southern california, and possessed season tickets to the Lakers for some of those years, and I even own a super-shiny gold Lakers jacket. But I'm not anymore a Lakers fan. That love faded out a few years ago. And now, like my icon may kinda suggest, I'm munching chalupas for my new hometeam. So if you look at me, I hope when doing so you sort of nod in approval.)

@Alf
yeah, i'm sure a guy who was playing for the ball yells, 'what're you gonna do about it, punk?' after someone calls him on his bullshit.

he swiped for rudy's head, grabbed his wrist, and accidentally got a piece of the ball.

he should be suspended for however many games rudy misses. asshat.

A CAT/NOT A CAT IS RETIRING FROM BLOGTOWN.

Remember when blogtown was fun? I do. This was a frivolous place where we could have fairly intelligent discussions about the issue of the day while simultaneously celebrating cat friday/caturday and trolling Matt into various nervous breakdowns while he was changing his medications and calling everyone racist. It was fun!

Alas, the whole fucking Sam debacle brought in some sort of ideologue brigade that wanted nothing but SRS BSNS, but unfortunately had the debate skills of lesser apes. Sam-gate sort of wrapped up, but these dipshits just found new things to have completely incompetent show-downs about. It's fucking boring, and I'm fucking bored.

I know that Rom and jake and all the other half-wits will count this as a win, to which I say "good on you". You've made blogtown insufferably stupid, well done. I'm out.

Kiala, graham, Alison, other decent people: It's been fun, and I'll miss you guys.
Mercury arts interns: by and large you all suck. Up your game.
Matt: You're a talentless hack, but you knew that. Good luck with the mental health issues.

KTHXBAI.
