News Blogging is Serious Business

Or it is if you live in Iran, I guess.

Iranian blogger Omidreza Mirsayafi died in what was deemed an act of suicide in Tehran’s Evin Prison today. In an interview on Radio Farda, a Farsi speaking American funded radio station, Mirsayafi's family doubts the validity of the apparent suicide saying:


Prison authorities have notified Mirsayafi’s family that he committed suicide on March 18 by overdosing on sedative tablets. But while Mirsayafi was known to have taken such medication to treat depression, his sister says he would not have possessed enough to kill himself.
