Artsy Curious Fools Festival

Northeast Portland's newish comedy venue the Curious Theater is celebrating April Fool's Day with a full five nights of comedy, beginning tonight and continuing through Sunday.
I'll post the full schedule after the jump; on the roster are New York's Gustafer Yellowgold's show, local funnyfolk the Liberators and Super Project Lab, and more. The most interesting bit to my eye is the closing night performance, a one-man show about censorship from MAD magazine senior editor Joe Raiola, called Almost Obscene. (He'll also be speaking for free at the library this Sunday, info here.) Info and jazz on the Curious Theater website.
Now's as good a time as any to mark your calendar for a few other upcoming festivals: The Stumptown Comics fest runs April 18 & 19, with big-time special guest Jeff Smith, creator of the absofrigginglutely delightful Bone, among many many others; and the Bridgetown Comedy Fest (April 24-26) is the following weekend, featuring loads of comedians from around the country, plus a live taping of Jesse Thorn's great podcast The Sound of Young America with local musicians Mirah and Blitzen Trapper, and the not-local-but-still-fantastic Reggie Watts. Stay tuned in the next couple weeks for a Bridgetown ticket giveaway.
