Trivia at Club 21

Posted by Alison Hallett on Thu, Apr 9, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Starting tonight, former Mercury food editor Katie Shimer will be hosting a trivia night at Club 21, Thursdays at 7:30 pm. Katie has been doing trivia in the Lompoc empire for some time now; should be a good time. Word is the Club has a DJ night in the works as well, starting in a few weeks. Sorry about the short notice on tonight, I just ducked over for a drink and saw the flier. If anyone needs a trivia teammate I am SO TOTALLY THERE. As soon as I finish writing this article about comic books.

Aw, this sounds fun. Can you do a reminder blog next week? And can we get a merc staff/commenter team together? I know a lot about states, presidential history, world capitals, cats, and showtunes. Just sayin'.

I think most of my co-workers are terrified of Blogtown commenters, but I'm in. I know about... um... Evelyn Waugh books, the French Revolution, and... where the commas go?

BoxxyCat's areas of expertise include pre-nicaean christianity, canadian animation, stax records, and those two deleuze&guatarri books that everyone owns and no one has read. I know a lot about cats, too. I can copy-edit liek a motherfucker, too. If y'all need another team member, you know how to get in touch.

Boxxxy you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get those two deleuze&guatarri books that everyone owns and no one has read from the library.
I wanna read em damnit!
All these Library hoarders and their holds 10 people deep on stuff I wants!!! Pfffffffffft

Also - my expertise is entertainment history, music, Mesopotamian anthro and a bunch of cocktail chatter crap.

I'd go in for a /b/town trivia team. I've got good general knowledge. But I also don't know anything about music.

Is this gonna be a weekly trivia night? DETAILS! I DEMAND SOME DETAILS! Where's Matt with his fucking clarification?

Abusive, just buy a copy of Mille Plateaux, and get Anti-Oed if the bug bites you. You should be able to get used copies of either for about a tenner. Library is unnecessary, a three week borrow will teach you nothing except whether you're willing to give them what they demand. 10 minutes in Powell's can do that just as well.

So...I was kinda drunk when I posted that comment last night, and may have overreached a little bit regarding my skill level.

But still - YAY! This will be fun.

I don't think Joneser or Graham are terrifying.

But what about Blabby? I once saw that guy unhinge his jaw and eat a whole baby in one gulp!
