Gossip Woody Gone Wild!

I've had a soft spot for Woody Harrelson even before I got to hang out on his magic bus, where he taught me what a vaporizer is. I always think of him like a gentle, huggable little bear. But his recent exploits at LaGuardia airport, in which he repeatedly—albeit seemingly benignly—pushed around ("assaulted" as the victim annoyingly repeats like a broken record in the video) a pesky paparazzo, are a little embarrassing to watch.

Interestingly, Harrelson's statement regarding the incident turns the tables. Even though the video clearly shows that Woody is the one repeatedly lurching wordlessly toward the camera man, he used the excuse that he had mistook the chatterbox paparazzo for a zombie:

"I wrapped a movie called Zombieland, in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character. With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie."

This bodes well for Zombieland!

At one point he says that woody is assaulting him and to stop touching him while the camera shakes , but as the camera regains focus, Woody is ~15 feet away from him walking away...

Seeing how paparazzi are mindless, unfeeling scum, the zombie comparison is apropo. I never knew zombies to be so melodramatic though.

Why is Woody assaulting Tracy Jordan? "You just assaulted me, Woody Harrelson!"

Too bad this guy can still talk afterwards, and I don't even like Woody Harrelson.

Woody should have kicked his ass. And if his camera was broken, where did the video come from. In my experience, if you poke a bear or a hornets' nest with a stick, you probably won't like the results. In my view, paprozzi deserve anything that happens to them, short of being shot at.

What an opportunistic parasite. He's lucky Woody didn't pummel him, which would've been well within reason as far as I'm concerned. I've gotta think that if I were famous and had paparazzi following me around, I'd constantly be flipping out on 'em...

I used to live in LA, and I saw Woody walking around in many occasions. He was always super nice and accessible to random people who would freak out when they would see him. Therefore, I give him the benefit of the doubt.
