The Road: Nope, Still No Release Date. But Here's Some Concept Art!

So The Road? One of the most horrifying and beautiful books in recent memory? The one that's been made into amazing-sounding film, directed by John Hillcoat and starring Aragorn? The film that was partially shot here a while ago, and was supposed to be in theaters at the end of 2008? Well, there's still no release date for it. Shit, there hasn't even been a trailer. (If I was a betting man, I'd wager that we'll probably see it sometime this fall.)

There is, at least, this, though: Some of Production Designer Chris Kennedy's haunting concept art for the film has popped up online. Hit io9 to see more.

They better not ruin it. I cried my eyes out at the end of that book and IT BETTER happen again in the theatre. Viggo rules - so I am looking forward to it.

God, that book was so lazy. He coudn't even be troubled to come up with names for the characters.

That is very close to how I envisioned the landscape in my mind. Can't wait to see it.

This was one of the best books I have ever read. Super easy read and a great concept. Made me really think about my relationship with my son. I cried at the end of this book too....
