KATU STORY: MAKES AWKWARD LINK BETWEEN CAR CRASH AND PHONE CALLS...
From KATU:PORTLAND, Ore. - No one was injured in a crash in front of a Car Toys store at Jantzen Beach on Sunday but folks at the scene were a little surprised to find out that Mayor Sam Adams was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles involved."At first, I didn't have any clue (it was him)," said Randy Schweitz, who works at Car Toys and witnessed the crash. "He looked a little familiar and I kind of looked at him. But then we saw the report and figured out it was actually the mayor."
And this isn't the story KATU was planning to break today about Adams. Rumor-mongers over the weekend say KATU has been interviewing prominent Salem lawmakers about Adams' effectiveness in the capitol, and that those lawmakers' candid views have been captured for posterity by the channel's investigative reporter, Dan Tilken. You can expect some serious under-bus throwing, at least, so I've been told by a well-placed source.

If they just built all those glitzy strip malls down here that he's helping them get, he could have stayed down here instead of going to Jantzen beach and he wouldn't have needed the car!

Am I the only one who's thought Tilken's political views come across pretty clearly on TV? At least they got rid of John Capell, though.
