It's time again for the Mercury to till the soil in the editorial department and recruit us some summer interns! This quarter is arguably the best quarter during which to intern because we are more likely to buy you a beer on the Club 21 patio, send you to cover events that entail total or partial nudity, and, um... did I mention the Club 21 patio? Anyhow, we are looking for interns with:
• A strong interest and involvement in local culture and events, including film, music, theater, books, fashion, and fine arts.
• Virtuoso writing skills and a desire to accrue published clips (for free!).
• An aptitude and tolerance for data entry and the transcription of long winded interviews with fascinating subjects.
• Enthusiasm for blogging and all things internetty.
We are not looking for:
• poopy attitudes and poor senses of humor
• litigiousness
• mouths to feed
If you feel like you would be an excellent candidate for this three-month, unpaid, unforgettable experience, please email me immediately with your resume, a few writing samples, and a brief introduction explaining your love for and interest in the Merc.
