Politics So...About this Spobama Thing...

I linked to a long-winded Slate article in this morning's Good Morning News comparing the president to Mr.Spock. The article goes into all the legal reasons why the pair are similar, bottom line, because "Spock could inhabit another person's mind and not let it affect him." Blah. I'm more interested in how the country is being run by a Vulcan, and the fact that hundreds of people around the country have been Photoshopping terrible portrayals of the president in his new zeit-guise. Here's the worst I could find:

SPOBAMABAD: HAIR, CHECK, BEARD, CHECK, EARS....ER...EARS....

They're not all that bad. This one seems to be trying to make a satirical point, but ends up satiri-sexual, which I realize is totally legitimate when one considers all the Sp/irk erotic fanfiction out there.

Other budding Photoshoppers use the same basic materials for drastically different sp-outcomes:

Some are objectively terrible, but at the same time, strangely endearing.

While others seem seem strangely congruous, given how completely incongruous they are.

Matt, the word "zeit-guise" is quite possibly the best thing you've ever done. You should probably retire now, as you'll never be able to top that one.
