Two new downloadable add-ons for Fallout 3 have been announced!

The first, "Point Lookout," has players exploring the wasteland that was once Point Lookout National Park in Maryland. Few details have been offered, but expect angry, mutated park rangers, and raccoons intent on rummaging through your stuff.

"Mothership Zeta," the second DLC pack, has aliens coming to the Wasteland and snatching local townsfolk. If you count the $10 price tag Bethesda has attached to each of their 5 DLC packs, this is only the second time Fallout 3 players will be anally violated. *cue rimshot*

But wait, there's more!

Remember all those posts I've written about downloadable add-on content for Fallout 3? And do you also remember how often Graham whined about the extras only being available to Xbox 360 and PC gamers? And do you recall how I phoned Bethesda at all hours of the night trying to get them to bring that shit to the PS3 just so I could get a moment's peace?

Discounting the obvious lies in that last sentence, all three add-on packs released for Fallout 3 over the past few months are coming to the PlayStation 3 next month.

Now shuddup.

Thank you, Bethesda! Glad they're finally releasing the tie-in's, but I've had it with the small game selection, late releases, lack of downloadable upgrades, and the generally shittier versions of games on the PS3. Just bought a 360 Elite off craigslist and will only be using the Sony for Blu-Ray's now. Level 30, here I come!

Eh okay. I'm feeling a little mouthy so... I enjoyed Fallout 3, but it really is, sadly a Fallout clothed version of Oblivion and, if you played Fallout 1 and or 2, you know what missing.

That being said. The game stands up pretty well to other mainstream shit out there these days. I just hope these add ons are better than that Anchorage crap I wasted my money on.

Dwarf Fortress still has my vote as the best game ever at this point, alhough Peggle might be running a close second.

I was going to pick Fallout up on steam after it is sale'd to $10.

I paid full price for bioshock and that was the last "game" I will pay good money for. I don't mind waiting a year or more anymore for the games to go down in price and patched and DLC'd.

Bioshock put me to sleep after half the game. Artistically brilliant, gameplay dull as doornails.

So we can pretty much ignore 3.S's opinion on games then? The second act of Bioshock was vastly superior to the first act.

I'm guessing 3.S just didn't know how to configure his character for maximum pwnage.

uh, the game was a walkthrough, what with the consolized checkpoints every 10 fucking feet. Even ignoring them was a breeze. It was linear, scripted up the wazoo, and your standard FPS gameplay.

There was little "character configuring," you could choose *any* path and still beat the game easily. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2007/08…

The second half was absolute droll repeat of the first.

I'm not giving it a *bad* score, but it was no system shock/System Shock II/Deux Ex, by any means. The game was available for $10 less than a year after release on Steam. I shall do the same for Fallout 3. Another issue with Fallout3 is my brother got the game and it was crash city for the first 6 months after release, until a patch came out and fixed.

Oblivion was a job. Another gorgeous game that I enjoyed for about 3 hours, but one I felt like I should be paid for to play, since I don't normally run hundreds of errands without getting paid one way or another.
