What Is Right with Black Dynamite Also Happens to be What Is Wrong with It
Mayor Sam Adams' former spokesman Wade Nkrumah has filed a tort claim with the city, showing his intent to sue after Adams blamed "job stress" for Nkrumah's resignation in late January. Nkrumah wants over $160,000 for damage to his reputation as a result. Nkrumah's claim alleges he resigned because Adams lied to him about his relationship with Beau Breedlove:

I'd say claimant may have a case. However, only $160K? That is two years salary alone. What is wrong with people in this country asking for so little when they sue!
I wonder. The Adams taint, like an oil-slick, may take years to clean up. I would not be surprised if this guilt by association is not making Nkrumah's job prospects dimmer. I mean, when you go for an interview, you better hope that your resume doesn't remind someone enough of this charade to make them feel nauseated.
Nausea is never good for the hiring game.
So assuming the city will be paying a lawyer to defend this, and we know Sam promised to step down if the lies in any way would interfere with city business.
So does he do it now or was that another lie?
They will probably just establish a new URA in order to pay for Wade Nkrumah... and a couple of stadiums for Merritt Paulson.
I don't think its news when Sam Adams lies or when his lies affect others. How about a blog when he tells the truth? Now that would be something NEW and refreshing.
Oh right, he doesn't tell the truth...ever. Carry on then.
Wade's resume is his reputation. No surprise he would sue to protect his good name.
Further, what's admirable, is the dollar amount of the suit is minimal - covering his legal costs and a reasonable penalty.
Of course, he could have avoided all this by choosing *not* to be amongst those journalists who walk through the revolving door between reporting on government and being a part of it.
You got what you asked for, Wade. Why be surprised about it now?
Blabby, I often dislike the things you say.... but...
"could you please not make us envision the "Adams taint"?"
...that's some comic genius.
It's a dilemma, because suing your former employer can't be great for your reputation either. "Hey, let's hire that guy, he sued the last people he worked for!"
